This newly-constructed community health center issituated in a city in south central Alaska. This region ischaracterized by abundant waters of the Cook Inlet, mountains, lakesand rivers are nearby. Long recognized by Alaskans as a recreationaldestination, the area also boasts high-performing schools, outstandinghealth care facilities and community cultural activities and is only a 2-1/2 hour drive to Anchorage.This health center recently merged with a community mental healthcenter and now provides primary care, behavioral health and dental careas an integrated CHC. They have been nationally recognizedas a new model of integration in Alaska and the Lower 48 with supportfrom both state and federal entities. Primary care and behavioralhealth services are located in a new 31,000 sq. ft. building and ourdental center is located in a nearby community.
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER/POSITION:The purpose of this position is to serve the dental center as a pediatric dental provider. The Dentist in this position is responsible for providing directpatient care including diagnosing, planning for, and treating the needs of each patient with an emphasis on education and preventative care. The position providesprofessional expertise and participates in administration of a varietyof training and review programs; also responsible for proper record keeping, ensuring services meet the needs of clients, and arebeing provided in accordance with best care practices, industrystandards, organization guidelines, legal requirements and federal law.
REQUIREMENTS:Must have possession or be able to acquire a current State of Alaska Pediatric Dentist Specialty License. Candidate should be able to operate a computer system and be able to become proficient in the use of computerized imaging and electronic dental record programs. The ability to communicate effectively is key to this position as you will be in contact with patients of varying ages & groups as well as dental center staff. Quality candidates should reflect core values of dignity & respect and be able to project a professional manner and image as this position will be serving as a Community Liaison.
